Due to the rising water level of the Tich and Cau rivers, the Hanoi City Civil Defense Command has issued alarm level II in some wards and communes from 0:20 on August 24, 2026.
Based on the water level of the Tich River at Kim Quan at 0:20 on August 24, 2026 reaching 7.62m, exceeding alarm level II (7.60m), the Hanoi City Civil Defense Command issued an alarm order level II on the Tich River.
Alarm II is applied in the areas of wards and communes: Son Tay, Phuc Tho, Doai Phuong, Thach That, Ha Bang and Tay Phuong.
The Civil Defense Command of the above-mentioned wards and communes, along with units, sectors and officials assigned tasks, must seriously implement response regulations when there is an alarm II order.
At the same time, Hanoi also issued alarm level II on the Cau River in the areas of Trung Gia and Da Phuc communes.
The Civil Defense Command of Trung Gia and Da Phuc communes and related units are required to strictly implement regulations when there is an alarm II order.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Construction, the accumulated rainfall on August 23rd is about 150mm. Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Center and maintenance units coordinate with communes and wards to implement drainage plans and handle flooded points.
In the inner city area, no flooding points have been recorded. Suburban areas recorded 2 flooding points of about 20cm at Ngoc Truc street, Dai Mo and underpass No. 4, Thang Long Avenue. By 8:10 am on August 24, both flooding points had run out of water.
Rain is forecast to last until the end of August 25. Along with water discharge from hydropower reservoirs, water levels on the Red River, Tich River, Bui River, Day River and Bac Hung Hai River are forecast to continue to rise.
Hanoi Department of Construction requests units to maintain 24/24h duty, be proactive in all situations, not subjective; and closely coordinate with the agricultural sector and local authorities to minimize the impact of rain, floods, waterlogging and fallen trees.
Units are required to be ready with handling plans, not to let unexpected situations occur, ensuring safety for people and traffic in the area.
