Floods flood more than 3,600 houses in Lang Son

Lang Son - Statistics as of the afternoon of August 23, heavy rain caused one death, more than 3,600 houses flooded, 2,625 households had to evacuate and 903 traffic points were landslides and cut off.

According to a report by Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, as of 5 pm on August 23, the whole province had 4,031 houses and auxiliary works affected. Of which, 3,623 houses were flooded; 362 houses had their roofs blown off, damaged or were knocked down by trees and rocks; 46 auxiliary works were damaged.

Localities have evacuated 2,625 households from deeply flooded areas at risk of landslides.

That Khe is a heavily affected area when 1,200 houses were flooded, corresponding to the number of households to be relocated. In Na Sam, 538 houses were flooded, 524 households were evacuated; Trang Dinh recorded 450 houses flooded and 150 households had to leave their homes.

Floodwaters also flooded into many residential areas in Van Lang and Dong Kinh, Tam Thanh, Ky Lua, and Luong Van Tri wards.

About 1,300 business households at Gieng Vuong market and Ban Nga market, Ky Lua ward, were affected, many goods and assets were flooded. Functional forces supported small traders to move people and belongings to safe places.

Heavy rain caused more than 2,687 hectares of agricultural and forestry trees to be flooded and broken; over 100 cattle and more than 6,000 poultry died. Fisheries damage is being统计.

On traffic routes, 903 landslide, flooding or fallen trees blocked the road, causing traffic jams and localized division.

Some schools, medical facilities, irrigation works and agency headquarters were affected. The headquarters of the Military Command of Tu Mich commune was flooded to the second floor; barracks of Battalion 1, Regiment 123 were flooded in the yard area.

The province has mobilized 8,131 people to participate in rescue, evacuation of people and overcoming consequences, including the army, police, militia and self-defense forces and local forces. In which, Division 3 reinforced 566 officers and soldiers; Cao Bang Provincial Military Command supported an additional 55 people.

From 7:00 p.m. on August 22 to 6:00 p.m. on August 23, rainfall in Kien Moc reached 195 mm, Mau Son 175 mm, Dinh Lap 161 mm, Binh Gia 126 mm. Na Sam and Van Lang recorded 118 mm and 117 mm of rain, respectively.

At 4:00 PM on August 23, the water level of the Ky Cung River at Lang Son station reached 256.41 m, 0.41 m higher than alarm level three. The Trung River at Huu Lung station exceeded alarm level three by 1.79 m, and the Bac Giang River at Van Mich station exceeded by 0.12 m.

Ban Lai Lake is discharging through three deep spillways with a flow rate of 810 m3 per second.

Regulatory discharge while the rain continues increases the risk of flooding in areas along the Ky Cung and Trung rivers, including Loc Binh, Khanh Khe, Na Sam, Van Lang, Trang Dinh and That Khe.

The meteorological agency forecasts that by the evening of August 25, Lang Son will continue to have rain of 50-100 mm, with some places over 150 mm. Flash floods, landslides and deep flooding may occur in low-lying areas, along rivers and streams and steep terrain areas.
