On the morning of June 3, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Bui Duy Cuong chaired a meeting with departments, branches, localities and related units on the situation of deploying investment preparation and site clearance for 9 bridge projects over the Red River and Duong River.
According to Mr. Dang Xuan Huan - Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, many projects are achieving positive progress.
In which, the Tu Lien bridge project has completed more than 96% of the site clearance volume. Construction of the main bridge, intersections and bridge over the Duong River is being promoted, aiming to be completed before the APEC 2027 Summit.

The Ngoc Hoi bridge project has completed 100% of site clearance in Hanoi. Main bridge and approach bridge items are being implemented synchronously.
For Tran Hung Dao bridge, more than 82% of the ground area has been handed over. Items such as drilled piles, pier bases and pier bodies are being accelerated in construction progress.
Thuong Cat, Van Phuc, Hong Ha and Me So bridge projects also achieved many positive results. Many important items have exceeded the safe level in the rainy and flood season, creating favorable conditions for the next phases. Hong Ha bridge and Me So bridge belonging to the Ring Road 4 Project - Hanoi Capital Region were determined to be technically opened to traffic in July 2027.
In addition to ongoing projects, Hanoi is also promoting investment preparation for Giang Bien bridge under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and Le Chi bridge on the route connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi.

According to the Hanoi Department of Finance, these are projects of great significance in strengthening regional linkages, reducing the load on existing bridges and creating momentum for the development of the Northern Red River area.
However, the implementation process still faces many difficulties related to site clearance, construction during the rainy and flood season, treatment of weak soil foundations and some problems with defense land...
Regarding the Tran Hung Dao bridge project, representatives of the Ministry of National Defense said that the Air Defense - Air Force Service is ready to hand over the battlefield to serve construction, and at the same time requested the city to soon complete land swap procedures and allocate funds to build a new battlefield.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Bui Duy Cuong acknowledged the efforts of the units in closely following the direction and implementing the project according to the required progress.
He emphasized that these are all key transport projects, of special significance for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security and expanding the development space of the Capital. Therefore, departments, branches, localities and related units need to focus highly and closely coordinate to remove difficulties and ensure the set progress.
The city requests localities to urgently complete site clearance, relocate all underground and above-ground works, and thoroughly handle arising problems, no later than June 30, 2026. The Tran Hung Dao bridge project must complete procedures related to defense land in June 2026 to hand over the construction site.
The Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee also assigned departments and branches to proactively coordinate to promptly resolve issues related to construction permits, traffic diversion, relocation of technical infrastructure, design adjustments and capital allocation, ensuring projects are implemented smoothly, cost-efficiently and meet progress requirements.
At the same time, the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned to build key progress milestones for bridge projects over the Red River for weekly monitoring and evaluation. For Giang Bien bridge and Le Chi bridge, investors are required to soon complete dossiers to report to the Hanoi City People's Committee for consideration and decision.
