Ms. Nguyen Thi Nien (90 years old, residing in Boc Nguyen village, Cam Thach commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province), the wife of martyr Nguyen Sy Nien (who died in the resistance war against the US to save the country), shared: "I see that in recent years, the policies for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives have been implemented very well and promptly by the Party, the State, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the local government of Ha Tinh. In addition to receiving daily subsidies, every year on War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the traditional New Year, when I am too old and weak to attend meetings, there are officials who come directly to my house to give me gifts, which makes me very touched."
Mr. Tran Quoc Tich (70 years old, residing in Cam Thach commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province) is a relative of a martyr - said that, in addition to receiving full monthly allowance according to regulations, every year, on War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the traditional New Year, he receives gifts of gratitude to his policy family.
“I think that the Party, the State, and local authorities pay great attention to and implement well policies for families of meritorious people, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and families of meritorious people,” Mr. Tran Quoc Tich shared.
According to Mr. Tich, in addition to the "hard" policy of caring for policy families according to regulations, every time the government mobilizes social resources to give gifts to people in difficulty, gifts to care for the poor during Tet, and policy families in the area, his family also receives a lot of attention, always on the list of gift recipients.

The entire Ha Tinh province organized the giving of 240,547 gifts to people with meritorious services with a total cost of nearly 67 billion VND on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
The whole province currently has 1,989 mothers who have been awarded or posthumously awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother, of which 20 mothers are still alive. 100% of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are cared for and supported by agencies and units; 100% of communes and wards do a good job in the work of war invalids and martyrs; 100% of meritorious people have a standard of living equal to or higher than that of their place of residence.
The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also advised the Provincial People's Committee to approve the Project to support 20 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers sponsored by the Slovakia - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce with a total cost of 720 million VND.
Implementing well the health care work for the meritorious people; receiving and providing centralized care for 158 meritorious people. Approving the nursing target for the meritorious people and martyrs' relatives in 2024 for 12,960 people, with a total implementation cost of more than 30.5 billion VND.
Localities pay home nursing benefits to 100% of beneficiaries in a timely and correct manner.
Up to now, the whole Ha Tinh province has confirmed and promptly resolved policies for 303,272 meritorious people with more than 400,000 records, including 12 groups of subjects according to regulations.
In 2024, the province paid subsidies to 453,961 beneficiaries with a total cost of more than VND 1,066 billion. Of which: 429,064 beneficiaries received regular subsidies; 23,390 beneficiaries received one-time subsidies...
Along with the state budget, socialization work is of interest to all levels, sectors, and social organizations to mobilize resources to increasingly better care for the material and spiritual lives of people with revolutionary contributions.
The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinates with the Public Security sector to conduct surveys, collect and update information on martyrs and their relatives, and take DNA samples from relatives to identify the remains of martyrs with missing information.
In particular, focus on handling cases with pending and backlogged policies, especially martyr confirmation, granting of Certificates of National Merit, martyr worship allowances, monthly allowances for youth volunteers, and recipients of Medals with incorrect information compared to their citizen identification cards who have passed away but have not yet had their funeral expenses resolved...
Direct units and localities to collect data, verify and confirm more than 26,000 information about martyrs and their relatives to update the national population database according to the direction of the Government and Prime Minister.
Organized 4 training sessions and dialogues on preferential policies for people with meritorious services for nearly 1,300 delegates from Thach Ha, Ky Anh, Duc Tho and Cam Xuyen districts. Disseminate policies and answer questions about the implementation of preferential policies for people with meritorious services for nearly 3,000 people with meritorious services and their relatives who are receiving care.
Promote the application of information technology in the field of meritorious people, especially in resolving regimes, policies, records, and administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for people to access, establish records, and enjoy policies.
Review and update records and data on meritorious people. Look up information on records of war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs, and other subjects as requested by agencies and units.
“In the coming time, Ha Tinh will continue to implement well the regimes and policies for people with revolutionary contributions. In the immediate future, in preparation for the traditional Tet At Ty 2025, we will focus on doing a good job of giving Tet gifts to show gratitude to people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, and families with meritorious services in the province,” said Mr. Phan Tan Linh - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Tinh province.
