On the evening of July 8, information from the People's Committee of Sam Son Ward, Thanh Hoa Province said that an incident had just occurred in the area where two children had an accident while swimming in the sea.

Initial information said that at around 10am the same day, a family from Phu Tho province took their children to travel and bathe at Sam Son beach. While swimming, the two children unfortunately slipped from the boat.
At the time of the incident, local people and rescue forces promptly approached and rescued a child in a state of unconsciousness. The other child was swept away by the waves.
Immediately afterwards, the on-site forces organized a search and notified the rescue forces to increase human and vehicle support. Present at the scene, divers quickly deployed the search. In addition, the authorities also used flycams, boats and scissors to search for the victim's whereabouts.
The identity of the missing child was identified as N.N.M. (born in 2019), the child who was saved was N.T.K. (born in 2018). The two are brothers in a family in Binh Xuyen commune, Phu Tho province.
According to a representative of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital, at the time of hospitalization, the patient's condition was very serious, doctors had to intervene and provide emergency care for 15 minutes to see the heart rate return.
By the evening of the same day, the search for the missing child had to be temporarily suspended due to the dark and unfavorable weather conditions.
