On August 13, the leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Truong - Da Lat Ward (Lam Dong) said that Xuan Truong Ward Police are coordinating with professional units to conduct a crime scene investigation and investigate the landslide at Tay Ho coffee shop that killed 2 people.
According to initial information, the victims in the incident were 2 11th grade students, residing in Don Duong commune, Lam Dong. In which, the male victim was named Q, the female victim was named N.

At around 4:00 p.m. on August 12, the two children rode a motorbike to a Tay Ho coffee shop in an alley on Hung Vuong Street to have fun and experience.
While these two students were drinking coffee at the restaurant, the heavy rain caused rocks and soil from the slope above the restaurant to collapse and kill them.
The leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat said that at the time of the incident, the authorities had coordinated with the people to take the victims away from the scene and transfer them to Hoan My Hospital.
The official of Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat said: "After the incident, the local government organized a visit, encouraged and supported each victim's family with 10 million VND".
A resident living near the landslide scene said that the Tay Ho coffee shop area was formerly a vegetable growing area for a household. About 2 years ago, this area was renovated and put into coffee business, serving visitors to experience and take photos.
"The infrastructure of the coffee shop is located on the frontage of the concrete alley, below are miniatures, flower spaces and places for customers to use services and sightsee. Yesterday, two guests were playing below and the restaurant staff called them up because of the heavy rain. However, before the passengers could get up, the land collapsed and buried them," said a resident living near the scene.
On the afternoon of August 12, after the landslide occurred, the authorities of Xuan Truong - Da Lat ward organized a blockade of the Tay Ho coffee shop.
The authorities also requested the owners, Mr. Nguyen Dinh An and Ms. Nguyen Thi Chinh, to evacuate from the area to ensure the safety of their lives.
Regarding legal issues related to construction in the above area, the leader of Xuan Truong - Da Lat Ward People's Committee said that the locality is coordinating with competent authorities to organize a review, but there is no specific information yet.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the afternoon of August 12, in Xuan Truong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Langbiang - Da Lat wards, Lam Dong, heavy rain occurred for nearly 2 hours, causing many streets and residential areas to be flooded and landslides.
Of which, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Quoc Toan, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh streets were partially flooded from 0.2-0.8m; residential areas along the stream on Lu Gia street were flooded from 0.5-1m.
Heavy rain caused a landslide on the coffee shop in an alley on Hung Vuong Street, burying 2 guests to death.
