On March 16, Mr. Dinh Trong Thanh - Chairman of Ba To Commune People's Committee said that two people in Ba To commune who were electrocuted by a 110kV high-voltage power line had to be transferred to Da Nang for treatment due to serious injuries.
Accordingly, at about 12:30 pm, Mr. Pham Van Nien (born 1983) and Mr. Pham Van Vop (born 1986), both in Lang Giay - Doc Moc village, Ba To commune, Quang Ngai province, along with some people were harvesting acacia trees in the Roc Tong mountain area, Lang Giay - Doc Moc village (acacia field purchased by Mr. Pham Van Vop for previous harvesting).
While exploiting acacia, an electric shock incident occurred from the 110kV high-voltage power line managed by Thien Tan Company above the acacia field mentioned above (at the time of the incident, the weather was rainy and humid). As a result, Mr. Pham Van Nien and Mr. Pham Van Vop were seriously injured and taken to Ba To Medical Center for emergency treatment, then transferred to Da Nang for treatment.
Immediately after receiving information provided by people, Ba To Commune Police proceeded to the scene to inspect and verify the incident, participate in rescuing the victims; requested people to leave the scene to avoid danger, and at the same time notified the 110kV power line management agency to inspect and fix the incident, ensuring safety for people.
According to the reporter's observation through photos provided by people, the victim suffered severe burns to his arm and face due to high-voltage electricity splashing on him.
Currently, Ba To Commune Police are continuing to verify the contents related to the incident.
According to Mr. Dinh Trong Thanh, after the incident occurred, commune leaders directly went to the scene together with other functional agencies to investigate the incident, and at the same time supported each victim with 1 million VND. According to Mr. Thanh, whether the two victims mined acacia inside or outside the high-voltage power grid corridor will be investigated and clarified by the police.
