Two people in Nghe An missing after being swept away by floodwaters

Nghe An - In one day, two victims were unfortunately swept away by flood waters and went missing.

On the evening of September 21, information from the leader of Lam Son Commune People's Committee, Do Luong District (Nghe An) said that functional forces and local people are searching for a female student swept away by floodwaters.

According to initial information, at around 2 p.m. the same day, a group of three female students rode two electric bicycles from Lam Son commune to Boi Son commune. When they reached a flooded section of the road, one student stopped her bike, while the other two rode a bike across the spillway.

Due to the strong current, both students were swept away by the flood. At the time of the incident, one victim was rescued by local people, while the other student sank into the flood and went missing.

Upon receiving the information, Lam Son Commune People's Committee mobilized search and rescue forces. By late afternoon, the victim had not been found. Authorities are still actively searching for the victim in the pouring rain.

It is known that the scene shows that the road where the two students had an accident is about several kilometers long. The road is almost submerged in water about 50cm deep.

On the morning of September 21, two young men, about 22 years old, one residing in Lang Son commune (Anh Son district, Nghe An) and the other residing in Nam Son commune (Do Luong district, Nghe An) went together to the canal area across Lang Son bridge, Lang Son commune, Anh Son district to use fishing nets. During the process of casting the nets to catch fish, one person was submerged by floodwaters and went missing.
