Hai Phong - On the afternoon of June 13, the City's Natural Disaster Prevention Standing Office issued a document on ensuring the safety of ships operating in the sea area.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Hai Phong City Hydro-Meteorological Station, at 1:00 p.m. on June 13, the center of storm No. 1 was at about 18.7 degrees North latitude; 108.4 degrees East longitude, about 235 km from Bach Long Vi Island. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 11 (103-117km/h), gusting to level 14, in the next 3 hours the storm will move north at a speed of 10-15km/h. Due to the influence of storm No. 1, the Gulf of Tonkin has strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9.

To ensure the safety of ships operating in Hai Phong sea area, the Standing Office for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of the City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense recommends that localities and sectors, agencies and units continue to review operating watercraft, notify vehicle owners about the developments of storm No. 1 to proactively take shelter and have a safe operation plan.

Localities temporarily suspended licensing of activities and accommodation at sea in the evening and night of June 13. At the same time, closely monitor the developments of storm No. 1, be ready to implement the ban on the sea when there is a notice.

The City Border Guard Command directs the island Border Guard stations to organize fireworks to call on ships to take shelter according to regulations; prepare forces and means to carry out rescue work when situations arise.

According to the report of Bach Long Vi district, as of 9:30 a.m. on June 12, the district had 192 vehicles with 610 workers on the island, of which, there were no ships operating at sea. All vehicles were anchored in the port.

The District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue held a meeting to deploy storm prevention plans on the island and the sea area around the island to seriously deploy duty to the District Steering Committee and agencies, units, and residential areas in the district.

The district also mobilized all forces and means to ensure readiness for storm prevention and control; reviewed and ensured food and provisions for storm prevention and control. Along with that, urge and guide fishermen on vehicles to anchor in the seaport to anchor and tie their boats against the boat. For small vehicles in the port, they have been organized to take to shore to avoid storms; organize evacuation plans to avoid storms in case a major storm makes landfall.

According to information from the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry terminal management board, due to the impact of storm No. 1, on the morning of June 13, this area had strong, very strong winds. To ensure the safety of passengers, the management board announced the suspension of ferry operations at certain times (5-630, 8-130). Currently, the unit is also continuing to monitor the developments of storm No. 1 as well as the actual weather situation at the wharf to adjust the operating time.
