Speaking at the seminar, Hai Phong City Party Committee Secretary Le Tien Chau emphasized that the seminar is an especially important occasion to look back at the 70 -year historical journey, acknowledging the great achievements that the Party Committee, Army and the people of the city have achieved; At the same time, frankly acknowledging the limitations, challenges, identifying solutions and orientations to bring Hai Phong to develop faster and more sustainably in the new period.
At the seminar, delegates focused on comprehensive and profound evaluation of 70 years of construction and development of Hai Phong; Clarify the role and contribution of Hai Phong to the overall development of the country. Besides, clearly analyzing the bottlenecks that need to be opened in the development of the city, especially in the context of union with Hai Duong.
The workshop also pointed out lessons learned, key factors as well as good initiatives, new and creative ways of doing things in socio-economic development, urban management, administrative reform, Party building and the political system. At the same time, propose breakthrough solutions, specific mechanisms and policies for the city after the merger; suggest typical international initiatives and experiences from successful developed cities in the world, such as Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen... to seek new approaches suitable to the conditions of Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular.
