At around 10:00 p.m. on July 15, when returning home from a picnic, Ms. Vu Thi Thu (residing in Hamlet 1, Phuong Khe village) and her husband suddenly discovered a blue plastic lane placed near the gate of their house. Inside was a newborn baby boy with some items such as diapers and papers. The family immediately reported to the local authorities and temporarily took the baby home to take care of.
That same night, the People's Committee of Nam Thanh Mien commune directed the commune police to coordinate with the Health Station to verify and check the child's health condition. According to initial assessments, the newborn baby was in good physical condition, weighed 3.2kg, and was male. The child was carrying a piece of paper in his hand with the words "Child born at 1:00 p.m. on July 12".
The authorities have made a record of the incident, temporarily handed over the baby to Ms. Thu's family for temporary care, and issued a widely distributed notice to search for relatives. In case no one comes to claim the goods after the prescribed deadline, the commune will carry out procedures in accordance with the provisions of law.
Just one day before, in the early morning of July 14, Ms. Vuong Thi Song - a resident of Quy Duong village (Mao Dien commune) while exercising in the morning also discovered a newborn baby abandoned on the side of the road. The baby was placed in a red plastic lane, covered with a white blanket, next to a bottle of milk, a few sets of clothes and a handwritten note: "Thank you, whoever can pick it up, take care of it and help nourish it".
Immediately after the discovery, Ms. Song took the baby to the commune health station for a health check. The baby is male, about 25 days old, weighing 3.5kg. The Mao Dien commune government has also drawn up a record and handed over the baby to Ms. Song's family for temporary care, and at the same time deployed a public announcement to verify relatives.
