Dak Lak - Two key expressway projects Pleiku - Buon Ma Thuot - Gia Nghia and Phu Yen - Dak Lak are expected to be implemented with a total investment of more than 105,000 billion VND.

On July 16, Mr. Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee informed the press agencies about the plan to implement two key expressway projects passing through the province, including the Pleiku - Buon Ma Thuot - Gia Nghia route and the Phu Yen - Dak Lak route.

According to Mr. Thai, the Ministry of Construction has just completed the planning of the national expressway network. In which, the Pleiku (Gia Lai) - Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) - Gia Nghia (Lam Dong) expressway is identified as one of the priority investment projects before 2030.

This expressway has a length of about 260km, with a total estimated investment of more than 70,000 billion VND. Currently, specialized agencies of relevant localities are coordinating to provide information and complete dossiers for functional units to prepare project proposals according to regulations.

In addition, the Ministry of Construction has also included the Phu Yen - Dak Lak expressway in the list of projects expected to be invested before 2030.

According to the planning plan, the entire route is more than 200 km long, with a total estimated investment of more than 35,000 billion VND and is implemented in two phases.

Phase 1 will build the section from Bai Goc Port area to Buon Ho ward (Dak Lak), about 120 km long, expected to start in 2027.

In phase 2, the expressway will be extended from Buon Ho to the Dak Rue border gate area (Dak Lak), bordering Cambodia, contributing to the formation of a transport axis connecting from the South Central Coast to the Central Highlands border area.

According to Mr. Truong Cong Thai, these are two transport infrastructure projects of particular importance to the development of Dak Lak as well as the Central Highlands region.

When expressways are invested and put into operation, travel time will be shortened, logistics and transportation costs will be significantly reduced.

At the same time, the routes will strengthen inter-regional connections, expand development space, create motivation to attract investment, and promote socio-economic development of the province in the coming years," Mr. Thai emphasized.

Currently, Dak Lak province will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and relevant localities to complete the necessary procedures, ensuring the progress of investment preparation for the two projects according to the set roadmap.
