According to Lao Dong reporters on February 2, many machines and workers are being mobilized by the contractor to deploy the final items of the Ring Road 2.5 project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section.
The Ring Road 2.5 project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section, is invested in the form of a BT (build - transfer) contract with a length of 1.6km, with a total investment of about 1,317 billion VND.
The project started in 2014, was expected to be completed in 2017 but was delayed.
By 2020, the project was temporarily suspended when it had only reached about 40% of the workload. The reason was due to problems in site clearance and extension of the BT contract appendix.
After 5 years of suspension, by the end of May 2025, with the permission of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hoang Mai - Hanoi Construction Investment Co., Ltd. (the project enterprise) organized the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the 2.5 Ring Road Construction Project, Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section.
Informing Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Hoang Mai Construction Investment Co., Ltd. - Hanoi said that up to this point, the site clearance of the project has basically been completed, only 1 household in Dinh Cong ward has not demolished the encroaching boundary construction.
Currently, the project enterprise is actively and proactively coordinating with Dinh Cong Ward People's Committee and this household to soon agree on a plan to return the site for the project.
The relocation of technical infrastructure works (electricity, water, telecommunications) within the site clearance limit of the project has been completed up to 90% of the volume.
The main items include: rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage, road surface, L3 bridge across the Lu River, water supply system, green trees, lighting... are being deployed synchronously throughout the route.
In particular, in the past 3 months (November, December 2025 and January 2026), the investor has directed contractors to focus highly, deploy construction according to the motto "3 shifts, 4 teams", ensuring the quality and progress of the project.
By February 10, Ring Road 2.5 (Dam Hong to National Highway 1A section) will be technically opened to traffic from alley 192 Le Trong Tan street to pile H6, ensuring synchronous connection with the technical opening plan of the underpass project at the intersection between Ring Road 2.5 and Giai Phong road to serve people traveling to welcome the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
By March 31, 2026 at the latest, the project will complete all items, ensuring synchronization and meeting the conditions for handover and commissioning according to regulations.
Regarding the progress of the Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection underpass, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor) said that the contractor is currently focusing on completing the remaining items of the project.
In which, on the night of January 31, the construction unit cleared the tunnel, connecting both ends of Kim Dong road and Ring Road 2.5 Dam Hong.
The project will be basically completed and opened to traffic on February 10th.
Kim Dong - Giai Phong intersection underpass project started construction in October 2022.
The project has a scale of 4 lanes. The total length of the tunnel is 460m, of which 140m is closed tunnel and 320m is open tunnel. The total investment of the project is 778 billion VND.
