Gia Lai - Due to the impact of floods, Mo Nang spillway was flooded and landslides, causing Mo Nang village with 341 households to be cut off from the commune center.

On September 8, the People's Committee of Ia Pa commune mobilized the commune police force, militia and people to urgently deploy a temporary repair plan for the road through Dak Hiao stream.

Dozens of people stood along the stream to support people, the elderly and children to cross safely. At the same time, local authorities and people joined hands to transport materials and reinforce dangerous landslides.

It is known that flooding and landslides in this area have occurred many times. While waiting for a long-term solution, the timely intervention of the government and functional forces has helped people stabilize their lives and production.

Within just 6 hours (from 8am to 2pm on September 8), the authorities had basically leveled the ground, connected the two ends of the spillway, creating conditions for people to travel that day.

In previous days, prolonged floods caused severe damage to the underpass. The strong current swept away the previous temporary layer of reinforced gravel, causing the road surface to break, exposing many large rocks.

Mr. Le Tien Manh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Pa Commune (Gia Lai Province) - said: "In the long term, Ia Pa Commune has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee include in the public investment plan for the period 2026-2030 the road through the spillway leading to Mo Nang Village. Because every year, heavy rain causes damage and heavy flooding. The province has agreed to the policy of building a new road and upgrading this road".
