THU GIANG |

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has issued decisions to declare a natural disaster emergency when many communes and wards in the area have consecutive serious landslides, threatening the safety and lives of people.

On November 22, in Bhlooc village ( Avong commune, Da Nang), many people heard an explosion and discovered a large crack extending from the top of the hill to the back of a household's house.

According to Mr. Aral Hoang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Avuong Commune (Da Nang), the Bhlooc village area has steep hills and mountains, continuous heavy rain in recent days, causing water in the soil and rocks, posing a very high risk of landslides. To ensure the safety of people and property, the People's Committee of Avuong commune has quickly mobilized cadres, soldiers and security forces of neighboring villages, standing militia and on-site forces to support the evacuation of people to safe places.

The authorities have stretched out warning ropes and established dangerous areas. At the same time, it is recommended that local people, especially households living near mountain slopes, streams, and areas at risk of landslides, regularly observe the terrain around their residence and promptly notify local authorities.

The An Luong embankment (Duy Nghia commune, Da Nang) has also suffered serious landslides since the end of October 2025, threatening the lives of 300 households.

In particular, closely monitoring the landslide situation and natural disasters; proactively mobilizing forces, vehicles and resources to promptly evacuate and relocate people from dangerous areas when there are situations and heavy rain. Arrange to ensure logistics for people at evacuation sites.

Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Pham Duc An informed that Da Nang City has been proactive from the beginning, establishing a frontline command board, deploying on-duty in all areas, especially the armed forces with 100% of their active force. Military Region 5 supports human and material resources to prevent and combat floods. The "4 on-site" motto in storm and flood prevention and control has been effectively promoted from the grassroots to the city.

According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Pham Duc An, landslides in Da Nang occurred in many places, many bridges, roads between villages, communes, and provinces were deeply flooded, leading to isolation.
