According to reporters' records, from about 1 pm on the same day, the number of vehicles circulating on Nguyen Van Linh street suddenly increased sharply. Localized congestion quickly turned into serious traffic jams, stretching for many kilometers.

The flow of heavy trucks began to condense from Binh Hung commune, stretching throughout Tan Hung and Tan Thuan wards in the south of the city. At the scene, tractor-trailers occupied all lanes, moving meter by meter towards the East.

Due to the sudden increase in the number of vehicles pouring into Phu My bridge at the same time, the entire road axis was paralyzed under the hot sun. Many drivers had to turn off their engines, leave their cabins and wait on the road because the traffic was motionless for hours.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung (from An Giang province), a container truck driver waiting to cross Phu My bridge, tiredly shared: "I moved from the Nguyen Huu Tho intersection to here for nearly an hour and a half. It's sunny at noon, traffic jams like this not only cost fuel but we drivers are also anxious because we are afraid of being late for delivering goods to partners at Cat Lai port".

Functional forces were present at key intersections to regulate traffic. However, due to the large number of vehicles pouring towards Phu My bridge at the same time, the congestion situation still lasted until early afternoon.
Nguyen Van Linh Street is one of the vital traffic axes from the Mekong Delta provinces to Ho Chi Minh City. Traffic jams here often become a nightmare for drivers, especially during peak hours or weekends.
