Under the port, hundreds of ships lined up on the shore because they could not go out to sea. Fisherman Nguyen Thanh Son (in Hai Tan residential group, Tra Cau ward) shared: "For more than a month now, the weather has been unfavorable, with continuous strong winds and waves, so we have not been able to take our boats out to sea to fish. If this situation continues, fishermen will face difficulties, while Tet is approaching".

At Tinh Ky fishing port, one of the busiest fishing ports in the province, seafood trading activities have become quiet. Hundreds of boats are ashore. Fisherman Nguyen Dua, in Tinh Khe commune, shared that this is the main fishing season for North fish. However, the rough seas have been prolonged, boats cannot go offshore, so fishermen and marine workers do not have income; the market lacks seafood for sale and processing...

According to the Tinh Ky Fishing Port Management Board, from mid-October 2025 to now, the fishing port has received many ships in the province, including hanging ships from other provinces, anchored, waiting for the weather to stabilize again. Fishing vessels located ashore not only directly affect fishermen but also lead to unemployment for workers doing the work of classifying, carrying fish for hire, logistics services...

The whole province currently has more than 3,000 offshore fishing vessels and nearly 1,700 vessels fishing in coastal areas. Mr. Ta Ngoc Thi - Deputy Head of the Provincial Department of Fisheries and Sea - Islands - said that currently, due to the influence of cold air, the sea is rough, and ships cannot go to sea. The Department continues to monitor the weather situation, grasp the developments of the fishing grounds to promptly notify fishermen to proactively take their boats offshore to catch seafood.

In addition, border control stations in the province have increased inspections, determined not to let ships depart when tropical depressions or the Northeast monsoon appear at sea, even fishing vessels near the shore.
