Quang Ngai - Storm No. 13 passed, leaving behind a scene of devastation. But amid the chaos, humanity is still bright as officers, soldiers... are determined to help people rebuild their lives.

After storm No. 13 swept through, Sa Huynh ward, Quang Ngai province had no human casualties, but more than 200 houses were flooded due to high tides, more than 30 houses had their roofs blown off. Immediately after the storm, the work to overcome the consequences was urgently and smoothly deployed between the government and the people.

On November 7, in the coastal area of Chau Me residential group - one of the most severely affected areas, more than 70 officers and soldiers of the Provincial 5 Defense Command were mobilized to support the people. Each group of soldiers and people cleaned up mud and soil, leveled sand and covered the road, helped clear the paths and repair damaged houses.

With the determination to help people soon stabilize their lives, officers, soldiers and people together urgently clean up, repair houses and shops, and restore the rhythm of life after the storm.

Colonel Tran Anh Tuan - Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Duc Pho Region 5 - said: "We mobilize all forces, prioritize supporting severely damaged areas so that people can soon stabilize their lives."

Not only in Sa Huynh, on November 7, police forces, union members, and youth in the province also simultaneously launched a campaign to support people to overcome the consequences of the storm.

In Ly Son special zone, youth union members coordinated with soldiers and police to clear fallen trees, collect garbage, repair houses, and clear the Southeast embankment from Dong An Hai village to Tay An Hai. Mr. Le Mai Binh - Secretary of the Ly Son Special Forces Youth Union - said: "All young people work their best, hoping that people will soon stabilize their lives and the environment will be clean and beautiful".

In An Phu commune, storm No. 13 and tornadoes caused 70 houses to have their roofs blown off, more than 13 hectares of crops, 6 hectares of shrimp ponds were severely damaged; more than 5 km of roads and 100 m of dykes and sea embankments were eroded, with total estimated damage of about 24.5 billion VND.

The roof of the house was blown off, all the furniture was wet, but on November 7, the couple was helped by the militia to re-roof. "I have lost a lot, but seeing soldiers and commune officials come to help makes me feel warmer and less worried," he said.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Bach - Deputy Commander of the An Phu Commune Military Command - said: "Immediately after the storm, we mobilized more than 40 officers and soldiers to help people repair their houses and clear the road, ensuring people have a safe place to live before the rain returns".
