According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a section of the embankment on Hai Tien beach (Hoang Tien commune, Thanh Hoa province) was eroded, cracked, and sunk deeply, posing a potential danger to people and tourists.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Tien Commune, Thanh Hoa Province said that storm No. 5 with big waves, strong winds combined with high tides caused landslides on the embankment roof. In particular, many subsidence points, cracks, and tilts appeared in the border area between Dong Thanh village (Hoang Tien commune) and Thanh Xuan village (old Hoang Hai commune), with a length of about 300m.
This situation affects the safety of the entire embankment - natural disaster prevention works, and threatens the traffic routes near the embankment. In the context of high tides and the rainy and stormy season at its peak, the risk of embankment collapse can occur at any time, causing insecurity for people and tourists and affecting the property of organizations and individuals in the area.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Hoang Tien commune has issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province to direct relevant departments and branches to inspect and consider declaring an emergency situation of landslides on the embankment of Hoang Tien commune, in order to quickly deploy handling measures to ensure safety for people. At the same time, the locality also proposed financial support to repair and reinforce the embankment.
