As one of the key traffic projects of Phu Binh commune (formerly Xuan Phuong commune, Phu Binh district), the route connecting National Highway 37 with DT.269B is expected to promote regional and local socio-economic linkages.
Although not yet completed and handed over, the embankment at the foot of the Kenh bridge has been eroded and damaged, forcing the construction unit to dismantle all of these items to rebuild it.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in July 2025, the embankment on the right side of the canal bridge slid off the ground, many broken sections were dismantled by the construction unit for reconstruction.
However, the embankment roof opposite has long cracks, some of which have sunk. Many locations are temporarily patched with cement.
This is an anti-landslide embankment item of the National Highway 37 connection project with Provincial Road 269B, with the task of protecting the safety of the Kenh Bridge foundation.
The project is invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board. The embankment at the foot of the bridge was assigned to Tan Thinh Company Limited for construction.

The total route is 6.1km long, passing through 3 communes including Xuan Phuong, Tan Kim and Tan Thanh, with a total investment of 222 billion VND.
The starting point connects with the main road axis through Xuan Phuong commune, the end point intersects with DT.269B at Km5+450. This is a project designed according to the standards of a grade III mountainous road.
According to Mr. Le Vinh Khanh - Head of the Project Management Department, Thai Nguyen Province Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board, the direct cause of the incident was due to heavy rain during the time when the fill was still new and there was not enough time to stabilize the structure.
Because the project has not been completed for acceptance and handover, the contractor must take responsibility for the damage.
On the construction unit side, Mr. Le Xuan Quang - Director of Tan Thinh Company Limited affirmed that because the project has not been handed over and paid, the damaged embankment will be demolished by the company to rebuild.
