On the afternoon of January 13, Binh Phuoc Provincial Police officially informed about the fire at the headquarters of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee in Tan Phu Ward, Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province.
Binh Phuoc Provincial Police informed that at 11:30 a.m. the same day, Binh Phuoc Provincial Police received a report of a fire in meeting room A (1st floor lobby) of the headquarters of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee.
Immediately afterwards, Colonel Bui Xuan Thang - Director, along with Deputy Directors of the Provincial Police Department, went directly to the scene to direct the fire fighting work. At the same time, he directed the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police to dispatch 6 vehicles with 52 officers, soldiers and other forces to carry out the fire fighting task and stabilize the security and order situation.
At about 11:45 the fire was under control, and by 11:50 the fire was completely extinguished.

Regarding the scene of the fire, Binh Phuoc Provincial Police said that the fire occurred inside meeting room A (on the first floor) of the provincial People's Committee headquarters with an area of about 40 square meters. The flammable material was the carpet lining the floor in the meeting room, so a lot of black smoke was emitted outside and created black smoke in the front hall, but the fire did not spread to other areas.
The fire broke out at noon, after work hours, so there were only a few people left in the office. When the fire was discovered, everyone shouted and escaped through the hallway next door, so there were no injuries.
The fire only damaged property such as decorations, sound system, tables and chairs... in meeting room A. Initial assessment, the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
Binh Phuoc Provincial Police added that this was a fire in a small room, so the authorities only isolated the fire area to meeting room A for handling and fixing. All other departments and offices in the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee headquarters are still operating normally.
