On August 8, the leader of Dong Xuan District People's Committee (Phu Yen) said that Xuan Son Nam commune had a report on the phenomenon of mud movement from the ground to the agricultural ground in the commune, attracting the attention of the people.
The phenomenon occurred on agricultural land in Tan Vinh village (Xuan Son Nam commune), owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Loi (born in 2019, residing in the same commune).
Here, a stream of smooth, light yellow mud continuously flows up from the ground, forming a mudflow area about 5m wide. Many cracks have also appeared around this location on the ground. The depth of the mudslide point as well as the exact cause of the phenomenon have not yet been determined.
Through the situation from local people, about 46 years ago, a similar phenomenon of mudflow occurred in this area. At that time, a team of experts came to survey, but the results were unknown.
Due to the unusual nature of the incident, many curious people came to this area to observe. In that situation, the People's Committee of Xuan Son Nam commune quickly erected barriers with reflective ropes, put up prohibition signs and issued warnings to people not to approach the mudslide area to ensure safety and avoid unfortunate incidents.
