In early December, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 construction site entered its peak period. On the 14.7 km long overpass passing through the East, hundreds of workers, engineers and mechanical equipment are working continuously to complete the final items, towards the December 19 mark, opening nearly 30 km of the route for technical traffic.

The packages are simultaneously accelerating, in which Ho Chi Minh City plans to open 14.7 km of the previous Thu Duc City overpass; 5 km in Dong Nai; 3.1 km in Binh Duong and 6.4 km in Long An. To keep up with the progress, the contractor doubled the construction teams, mobilizing maximum equipment, especially in the eastern section, where the largest volume was.
During these days, the main work on the overpass is asphalt pavement, railing installation and handling of expansion joints for decisive items to meet technical traffic conditions. In Vinhomes Grand Park urban area (Long Binh ward), the bridge surface has been basically completed. The working groups continuously check each connection, reinforce the railing and complete the traffic safety system.

However, some sections from Vinhomes to Tan Van intersection cannot be connected yet. The bridge's end girder is being accelerated every hour, aiming to close the entire overpass before the technical opening time. The contractor said that the lack of materials, changing weather and many other objective factors are the reasons why the official opening plan has to be delayed.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the 14.7 km section of the overpass will be technically opened to traffic on December 19 instead of the official opening. Although the exploitation progress has been adjusted, the completion date of the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project on June 30, 2026 remains unchanged.
When put into operation, the overpass across the eastern metropolis will become one of the strategic traffic axes, reducing pressure on Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1 and opening up the possibility of strong connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Tay Ninh.
