Ensuring traffic order and safety (TTATGT) for school-age children is a task regularly deployed by the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police.
Since the implementation of the "Safe Traffic School Gate" model, the congestion in the area in front of the school gate during rush hour has significantly decreased, and the awareness of parents and students' compliance with the law has been gradually improved.
The model "Safe Traffic School Gate" under Coordination Program No. 11 between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training, deployed at educational institutions in the period of 2020 - 2025.
In Hanoi, this model has been effective, not only contributing to reducing congestion and the risk of accidents at schools during rush hour but also raising awareness and sense of obeying traffic laws for students right from school.
According to the leader of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, previously during rush hour, the school gate area was often chaotic because many parents stopped and parked their cars on the road when picking up and dropping off their children. However, since the implementation of the model, this situation has decreased significantly; parents are more aware of complying with regulations, and the work of ensuring urban order has also been effectively handled by the authorities.
During rush hours, Traffic Police Team No. 1 coordinates with local police and school boarding houses to deploy forces to be on duty at school gates, instructing students to move orderly, not gathering to obstruct traffic. At the same time, parents are reminded to stop and park their vehicles in the correct location to ensure ventilation of the school gate area.
In addition to guidance work, the Traffic Police force has increased inspection and strictly handled violations, especially common violations such as not wearing helmets for people sitting behind motorbikes, driving underage vehicles, and handing over vehicles to unqualified people.
According to actual records, at many school gates in Hanoi, there are still cases of students not wearing helmets when parents carry them on motorbikes and mopeds.
The leader of the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police said that in the coming time, they will continue to promote propaganda and strictly handle traffic violations among school-age children. At the same time, he emphasized the role of coordination between families and schools in educating awareness of law compliance. Parents setting an example and complying with regulations is the foundation for building a safe and civilized traffic culture from the smallest actions.
