Up to this point, most households in Quang Ninh still do not have electricity, although the electricity industry has made efforts beyond its capacity and strength, because the consequences caused by storm Yagi are too great.
With the 110kV grid, 10 poles were broken and collapsed; dozens of poles were tilted (not including poles in 110kV stations); many positions around the poles had broken wires, many 110kV stations had damaged equipment, the roof was blown off so water entered the station house.
In the medium voltage system, 31 stations were damaged; 544 poles were broken or collapsed; 160 poles were eroded or tilted; more than 34,000m of conductors were damaged; nearly 900 ceramic balls were broken. In the low voltage system, 1,395 poles were broken or collapsed; 140 poles were eroded or tilted; about 18,400m of conductors were damaged.
Not to mention the poles, low voltage lines, electrical cabinets and wiring systems to residential areas, households, and even household electricity meters.
In the past few days, the entire leadership of Quang Ninh Electricity Company has been present at the scene, together with the company's workers and employees and colleagues mobilized from other provinces and cities to support the reconstruction of poles, re-tensioning of wires, and re-installation of transformer stations...
The damage was so great that the rain continued to pour down at times, making the work even more difficult.
However, about 600 officers and employees of Quang Ninh Power Company and about 450 elite personnel from Power Companies: Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Northern Power Service Company, Northern Power Testing Company and contractors are still working day and night to gradually restore power.
It is expected that the Northern Power Corporation will continue to send additional troops to Quang Ninh.
Despite the unpredictable weather, electricians still hang from high poles to fix problems. They take turns, or have a quick lunch and continue their work.
Mr. Pham Dinh Chan - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Electricity Company - said that everyone has been trying their best but the difficulties ahead are still very great, hoping that customers and people will share and sympathize.
The process is to finish repairing the 110 kV power line system, then the medium voltage and low voltage systems, and the lines to households...
Up to now, with the 110kV line, 22/59 lines have been energized. In the medium voltage line system, 82/180 lines have been energized; power has been restored to over 133,399/461,000 customers.
In particular, power has been restored to the coal companies: Deo Nai, Thong Nhat, Nam Mau, Vang Danh, Ha Tu, Nui Beo and it is expected that today power will be completed for 100% of mines and industrial parks in Quang Ninh province.
In Ha Long alone, as of yesterday afternoon (September 9), Ha Long City Electricity has restored power to 15 medium-voltage lines. It is expected that today, the unit will make efforts to restore power to 28/38 medium-voltage lines. Immediately after the medium-voltage lines are restored, the City Electricity will prioritize restoring power to customers in key areas such as: Headquarters of provincial and municipal agencies and units; hospitals, water plants, telecommunications broadcasting stations, coal mines; Bai Chay tourist area, etc.
Meanwhile, the current low voltage system is still in disarray and this system must be completed before moving on to repairing the electrical cabinets and meters of the people, which are also estimated to be very damaged, but the electricity industry has not yet fully counted because it still has to focus on the upper lines.
Quang Ninh Electricity Company strives to complete the repair and restore power supply to basic customers within the next few days.
