In order to effectively implement social insurance policies in the new situation, Vietnam Social Security has just organized training conferences.
According to Vietnam Social Security, in 2025 and the first 4 months of 2026, the organization and implementation of social insurance and unemployment insurance policies nationwide is maintained smoothly.
As of the end of March 2026, the entire system has resolved and paid 3.67 million people receiving pensions and death benefits; 72,000 people receiving labor accident and occupational disease benefits; 2.2 million people receiving sickness, maternity, and health recovery benefits, and about 120,000 people receiving unemployment insurance benefits.
Notably, the number of people enjoying one-time social insurance benefits nationwide decreased by 21.7% compared to the same period; the number of people enjoying one-time social insurance benefits alone decreased by about 24%. This is a positive sign in keeping workers in the social security system.
Along with that, the implementation of policies related to arranging the organizational structure was carried out promptly.
By March 12, 2026, the social insurance agency has received and resolved more than 80,600 cases of retirement according to relevant decrees.
Speaking at a training session for social insurance officials in the South in early May recently, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security Chu Manh Sinh emphasized that in the context of many new policies and regulations on social insurance and unemployment insurance being officially implemented, the entire system needs to continue to innovate thinking and improve its organizational capacity for implementation.
The new policy set out for the entire system is to continue to innovate thinking, improve the capacity to organize implementation, and ensure the full, timely and correct resolution of regimes and policies for people and workers.
According to the Deputy Director, the effective implementation of the 2024 Social Insurance Law, the 2025 Employment Law and guiding documents not only requires uniformity in professional procedures but also requires the team of officials and employees throughout the industry to proactively update knowledge, improve their sense of responsibility, and skills in handling situations arising from practice.
Especially at the grassroots level, where direct contact, guidance and settlement of rights for policy participants and beneficiaries are directed.
Over the past time, Vietnam Social Security has proactively reviewed, issued and amended a series of professional procedures to be consistent with the 2024 Social Insurance Law, the 2025 Employment Law and guiding documents.
Regulations on finance, fund accounting, cutting and restructuring administrative procedures based on data are also being implemented synchronously.
At the same time, Vietnam Social Security has summarized 43 groups of problems arising in policy implementation, and sent them to competent authorities for guidance.
To date, most of the content has been removed, contributing to unifying the understanding and working methods throughout the system.
