On August 23, news from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hue City, the City People's Committee has just issued a telegram requesting units to urgently deploy response to storm No. 5 (Kajiki).
According to the forecast, from August 24 to 27, due to the influence of storm No. 5, Hue City will have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain and thunderstorms. There is a high risk of flash floods, landslides, and flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers and urban areas.
At the telegram, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh requested owners of irrigation and hydropower reservoirs to deploy disaster response plans, ensure safety of works and downstream. In particular, Huong Dien Lake must operate according to the correct procedures, bringing the water level to flood-proofing level.

The authorities are assigned to review the plan, prepare means and human resources to evacuate people, rescue and relief; support people in harvesting the Summer-Autumn rice crop according to the motto "green at home, better at home than in the fields".
Localities are required to check the safety of dams, protect aquaculture areas, cages, and boat mooring areas and prevent unexpected incidents.
Hue City will also ban the sea from 7:00 p.m. on August 23, and organize a call for ships to take shelter safely before this time, ensuring safety for ships at anchorage areas.
