On May 7, the Hue City Forest Protection Department coordinated with the People's Committee and the Police of Phuoc Vinh and Truong An wards (Thuan Hoa district) to inspect and handle illegal wild bird trading locations.
After inspecting 5 ornamental plant businesses and coffee shops, the authorities have drawn up administrative fines for 2 violations and seized 25 wild birds of all kinds. The total fine is 2.2 million VND. The owners of the establishments have pledged not to continue trading or keeping wild birds.
The launch is part of the plan to implement Directive 01/CT-UBND of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province (now the People's Committee of Hue city) on strengthening the management and protection of wild birds. This is an effort of the Hue City Forest Protection Force, especially the Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan Inter-district Forest Protection Department, in strictly implementing regulations on wildlife protection, contributing to biodiversity conservation and raising public awareness of environmental protection.
