On July 2, at the meeting of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province, representatives of the Department of Finance reported the results of implementing socio-economic development targets for the first 6 months of the year, along with key tasks and solutions for July and the last 6 months of 2025.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, the two provinces of Hung Yen and Thai Binh have focused on leadership and direction, promoting administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment, and promoting digital transformation. Thanks to the proactiveness of the government, the support of businesses and the support of the people, the socio-economic situation of the two localities has achieved many outstanding results, higher than the goals assigned by the Government and the People's Council.
Before the merger, Hung Yen province's GRDP increased by 9%. The value of industrial and construction production increased by 10.67%, trade - services increased by 6.61%, agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 2.39%. Export turnover reached about 4.2 billion USD (up more than 29%), imports reached 3.56 billion USD (up more than 19%).
Total social investment capital reached VND37,782 billion, up 18.5% over the same period in 2024. In particular, Hung Yen's investment attraction reached the highest level ever, with total investment capital (including newly granted and adjusted) reaching more than 103,000 billion VND and nearly 594 million USD. State budget revenue reached more than VND 44,963 billion, completing 100.1% of the annual estimate in just 6 months.
In Thai Binh province, GRDP is estimated at VND 36,154 billion, up 9% over the same period. The total production value reached more than VND 105,954 billion, up 14.01%, of which industry increased by 22.28%, agriculture increased by 2.27%, construction increased by 6.88%, services increased by 9.62%. Budget revenue reached more than VND 28,928 billion, equal to 127% of the estimate and increasing by 113.6% over the same period - the highest level ever.
Not only the economy is flourishing, but cultural and social fields are also receiving comprehensive attention. The quality of education continues to improve; health care is implemented synchronously and effectively; administrative reform, digital transformation and investment attraction have achieved clear results. Hung Yen's Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2024 rose to the top 10 provinces nationwide (up 2 places compared to 2023); Thai Binh also increased by 1 place, belonging to the group of 30 provinces and cities with good economic management quality.
The two localities have strongly directed the organization of the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, ready for the two-level government model to operate from July 1. The political security situation and social order and safety continue to be maintained.
At the meeting, the People's Committee of Hung Yen province also discussed and analyzed the causes of difficulties, and proposed solutions for socio-economic development for the last 6 months of the year.
