At the 29th Session of the People's Council of Hung Yen province, term XVII, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia affirmed: The National Assembly's approval of the Resolution on merging Hung Yen and Thai Binh is an important step to realize Resolution 18-NQ/TW, contributing to building a streamlined and effective political apparatus.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, merging two provinces with similar scale and characteristics will form a strong, stable administrative unit with outstanding potential in terms of human resources, material resources and development.
After the merger, the new Hung Yen province has more than 3.5 million people, an area of over 2,500 km2, possessing a relatively synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, a profound cultural tradition and a source of quality cadres. With a strategic position in the triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, Hung Yen has many advantages to develop industry, urban areas, rural areas and digital transformation.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the process of arranging the administrative apparatus must simultaneously ensure political and ideological stability, unify the organization, allocate resources appropriately and promptly implement social security policies. He suggested that the Provincial People's Council quickly improve the organization, clearly assign tasks, develop a work program close to reality, and strengthen supervision of the implementation of the merger resolution and the operation of new administrative units.
The province needs to proactively coordinate with the press to orient public opinion, create social consensus; promote economic development tasks, improve the quality of education, healthcare, ensure social security, national defense - security; continue to build advanced and model new rural areas.
At the same time, innovate the organization of People's Council sessions in a modern direction, applying technology, improving transparency and enhancing voter contact and listening to people in the transition period.
