On August 21, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 of the province report on the urgent restoration and embellishment plan of the Le Quy Don Cultural Celebrity Memorial Site in Le Quy Don commune (old Hung Ha district, now under Hung Yen).
The project is invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 with a total capital of more than 41 billion VND from the State budget, implemented in the period of 2025 - 2026. The scale includes the restoration and embellishment of the Tu Du Area (1,215 m2) with items such as entrance gate, gate, worship hall, midway, back hall, stele house, guest house, kitchen, mobilier, toilet, technical infrastructure and other auxiliary items; the restoration of Le Trong Thu Tomb (180 m2) and the overall renovation of the garden and technical infrastructure.
At the meeting, delegates focused on clarifying difficulties and problems related to project names, adjusting scale, implementation progress and capital disbursement.
In his concluding remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the restoration of relics is an urgent task to preserve and promote historical values, meeting the conditions for organizing a ceremony to honor the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Famous Artist Le Quy Don (176 - 2026) as committed to UNESCO; at the same time, contributing to traditional education, promoting tourism development and local socio-economics.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province requested the investor to coordinate with the consulting unit to complete the dossier to seek opinions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ensuring that the design retains cultural characteristics and harmoniously connects the items. The demolition of relics requires compliance with the original elements, limiting the use of replacement materials. The project strives to be completed by March 2026.
