On October 29, Road Management Area III (Vietnam Road Administration) informed: at 12:10 on the same day, rising floodwaters touched the bottom of the Chau bridge girder - at Km1036+261, National Highway 1, through Binh Son commune, Quang Ngai province.
To ensure the safety of the project, Road Management Area III has directed the assignment of people to the scene to be on duty, monitor the situation and coordinate with local forces and units to ensure the safety of the project, separate traffic flows, regulate and guide traffic.

In the face of the possibility of continued rising floodwaters, at 1:45 p.m., the road management unit coordinated with the Traffic Police of Quang Ngai province and the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province to fence off the bridge, prohibiting vehicles and people from crossing the bridge, and at the same time assigned forces to be on duty at both ends of Chau bridge".
To ensure smooth traffic on the North - South route, Road Management Area III has coordinated with the Traffic Safety Committee, Department of Construction, Traffic Police Department, Quang Ngai Provincial Police and Da Nang City to organize remote traffic flow. Accordingly, vehicles traveling on National Highway 1 from the North to Doc Soi intersection (Km1028) will turn left to Dung Quat, then return to National Highway 1 at Binh Long intersection (Km1040+200) and vice versa.
At the same time, the authorities also conducted remote traffic diversion on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, in the North at the Chu Lai - Truong Hai intersection and in the South at the end of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway.
