On the morning of October 29, Quang Ngai Provincial Police said that Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quang Tien, Head of Son Tay Commune Police, while on duty to help people evacuate to a safe place, suddenly collapsed the roof and walls, a wooden tree stuck through his right foot.

Mr. Nham Xuan Sy - Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station - said that last night and early this morning, Quang Ngai province had widespread heavy rain. The possibility of landslides in the mountainous areas of Dong Truong Son is very high; major floods are forecast to appear on the Tra Khuc, Tra Bong, and Ve rivers in the afternoon and evening of October 29.
Currently, the water level on rivers in Quang Ngai province is rising very rapidly. The authorities are mobilizing all resources to support people in evacuating to safe locations.
