Dak Lak - Functional forces safely detonate 2 bombs left over from the war.

On January 27, news from Military Region 5 said that the Military Command of Dak Lak province had just organized the safe detonation of 2 bombs left over from the war at the training ground of Suoi Coi 2 village, Phu Mo commune and the Lo Com windmill area, Phu He village, Dong Xuan commune.

The detonation process was strictly deployed by the engineering force, in accordance with technical procedures, ensuring absolute safety for people and surrounding areas.

Previously, 2 bombs were discovered from information provided by people.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Area 1 - Song Cau Defense Command coordinated with the Military Commands of Dong Xuan, Xuan Phuoc communes and local police forces to organize surveys, verification, dangerous zone identification, arrange forces to protect the scene and organize the transportation of bombs to the centralized detonation area.

Through inspection, functional forces determined that these were 750-LB GP M117 bombs, with a diameter of 40.6cm, a length of 120cm, weighing about 334kg and 90-LB FRAG M82 bombs, 15.3cm in diameter, 71.1cm in length, weighing over 40kg. Both bombs were rusty, posing a high risk of unsafety.

These are types of bombs commonly used by enemy troops during the war in Vietnam, with great destructive power, often used to attack ground targets.

At the detonation points, the engineering force of the Provincial Military Command organized the digging of technical tunnels, installed detonators, explosives and successfully detonated 2 bombs, ensuring absolute safety, contributing to eliminating the risk of causing insecurity and safety for local people.
