On the morning of December 17, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command (CHQS) safely handled and destroyed a MK81 bomb weighing more than 150kg that remained after the war, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.
The bomb was discovered in the premises of Mr. Than Nhan Tong's house, Group 1, Khanh Vinh commune, after the recent major flood.
Floodwaters caused erosion of sand, exposing explosives located near residential areas, posing a serious safety risk.
As soon as the incident was discovered, people promptly reported it to local authorities and military agencies.

Upon receiving the news, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command quickly advised local Party committees and authorities to deploy engineering forces to coordinate with officers and soldiers of the Defense Command of Region 2 - Dien Khanh to block off the scene and evacuate people from the danger zone.
After assessing the level of danger, the specialized forces approached, handled the bomb and moved it more than 20km to Khanh Hiep sports field (Trung Khanh Vinh commune) to conduct detonation according to the correct procedure, ensuring absolute safety.
