Dong Nai - Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressways are experiencing increased traffic jams as people returning to their hometowns for Tet.

On the morning of February 11, thousands of people from Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai began to return to their hometowns to celebrate Binh Ngo Tet 2026.

The sudden increase in the number of vehicles caused the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to the Central and Northern provinces to be overloaded, congested, and long lines of vehicles lined up like on the intersection with National Highway 51, the section before the rest stop to the toll station at the entrance to the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway...

On the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, the section passing through the toll station in Xuan Que commune (Dong Nai province) also experienced congestion, cars moving slowly...

According to reporters' records, in many sections of the route, vehicles move with difficulty, moving little by little.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen, residing in Dong Nai, said: His family returned to their hometown to celebrate Tet with his family, because they were afraid of traffic jams, they departed at 4 am but were still congested, having to move a little because the bus was too crowded.

Faced with the sudden increase in traffic pressure, functional forces had to regulate vehicles to follow appropriate routes to avoid serious congestion.
