On February 11, Mr. Cam Bun Loc - Chairman of Nam Lau Commune People's Committee provided official information to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters about the case of a teacher being reported suspected of "locking up" students at Lau Tong school point - belonging to Nam Lau Elementary School.
According to reports, at about 4:15 pm on February 10, after finishing the class, teacher L.T. S (born 1984), homeroom teacher of class 1E (19 students), asked students to rearrange tables and chairs.
At this time, due to the cold weather, all windows were closed; the class had 2 main doors, but the door at the end of the class was locked from the outside due to lock failure, only the door on the podium was used for entering and exiting.
After the students left, Ms. S observed the class from the podium, saw that there were no more students, so she locked the outside door and left the school.
However, due to negligence, not carefully checking the hidden corners at the end of the class, it was not found that L.D. P (born 2019, residing in Long Lau village) was still in the class.
At about 5 pm on the same day (February 10), the family did not see P return home, so they went to look for him and found him in the classroom in a state of turning off the lights and the door locked from the outside.
The family reported to the school; the teacher in charge of the school point came to open the door and take the child out.

According to the report of the Commune People's Committee, through initial inspection, L.D. P's health and spirit were stable. Teacher S admitted shortcomings, affirming that there was no personal motive or conflict.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Party Committee - Nam Lau Commune People's Committee established a working group to visit and encourage the student's family; and at the same time directed the Commune Police to verify according to regulations.
Nam Lau Primary School has issued a decision to temporarily suspend teacher L.T. S from work to serve the inspection and clarification.
The temporary suspension period is 15 days, from February 11, 2026.
