According to the reporter, on the afternoon of February 11 and the morning of February 12, the authorities replaced the expansion joints on both sides of the road near the overpass of National Highway 47C (in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa). Vehicles passing through here are warned to pay attention and reduce speed.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on the evening of February 6, some drivers traveling on National Highway 45 - Nghi Son (from Thanh Hoa - Hanoi) encountered a rather dangerous situation when the expansion joint burst open in Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district.
On the afternoon of February 7, information from the management and operation unit of National Highway 45 - Nghi Son said that Road Management Office II.1, under Road Management Area II of the Vietnam Road Administration, sent a document requesting Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Transport) to fix and repair the expansion joint that popped open on the highway through Thanh Hoa province.
In addition, the Vietnam Road Administration also gave "hot" instructions that relevant units need to carefully check the route. If any damage is discovered, it must be repaired immediately to avoid unfortunate incidents.
In the long term, Road Management Office II.1 requests Project Management Board 2 to direct the contractor to urgently repair and fix the above damages, to be completed before February 14.
When implementing repairs, Project Management Board 2 and the contractor must develop a repair plan, implementation time, and traffic safety plan to send to the Traffic Police Department C08 and related units.
Thus, the expansion joint that was blown out has been dealt with. However, compensation for drivers whose vehicles were damaged has not been satisfactorily handled by the responsible parties.
