On the afternoon of February 7, information from the management and operation unit of National Highway 45 - Nghi Son said that the Road Management Office II.1, under Road Management Area II of the Vietnam Road Administration, sent a document requesting Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Transport) to fix and repair the expansion joints that were deployed on the expressway through Thanh Hoa province.
In addition, the Vietnam Road Administration also directed "hot" on the work, the relevant units need to carefully review on the route, if there is a phenomenon of damage to be repaired, avoiding unfortunate cases.
According to the Road Management Office II.1, the project of investing in the construction of National Highway 45 - Nghi Son under the project of building some high -speed road sections on the North -South route in the East period 2017-2020 , invested by Project 2 Management Board. The project was put into operation in June 2024, so far the project is in the warranty period.
Up to now, at Km3441+1282 (section through Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province), a expansion joints on the northern abutment have been damaged and cracked in concrete, and the steel plates with extended teeth have been peeled off, measuring 2m, causing traffic insecurity.
Facing the above situation, the functional forces have temporarily overcome. In the long run, the Road Management Office II.1 requests the Project Management Board 2 to direct the contractor to urgently repair and overcome the above -mentioned damage, completed before February 14.
When deploying repair, Project Management Board 2 and the contractor must prepare a repair plan, implementation time, the plan to ensure traffic safety and send it to the C08 Traffic Police Department and related units.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of February 6, some drivers traveling on the National Highway 45 - Nghi Son (from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi), to Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district, encountered a rather dangerous situation when the expansion joints were deployed.
The incident caused many cars to puncture tires, even having to call rescue vehicles for help.
