On May 13, the construction atmosphere on Cong Hoa street took place urgently when units accelerated to complete the steel median strip system, serving the reverse traffic organization plan, hoping to reduce congestion in the Tan Son Nhat airport gateway area.
Recorded at the construction site, groups of workers continuously transported and installed fixed steel fences along two white consecutive lines located on both sides of the road center.

After the steel fences were fixed, another group of workers quickly pasted reflectors on each barrier to increase recognition at night or in low light conditions, ensuring safety for traffic participants when the reversal plan officially operated.

Representatives of the Public Transport Management and Technical Infrastructure Center, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that it is expected that in the morning of May 14, the entire installation of steel fences on Cong Hoa street, the section from Truong Chinh street intersection to Ut Tich street will be completed.
Up to now, the new appearance of the road section from Truong Chinh intersection to Quach Van Tuan intersection has been basically completed after the old concrete median strip was removed. The last meters of steel fence facing the Ut Tich intersection area are also being urgently completed by workers to be handed over in time according to the plan.

Cong Hoa Street is one of the traffic routes that is frequently congested in Ho Chi Minh City due to high traffic volume, especially in the Tan Son Nhat airport gateway area. Therefore, the reverse traffic organization plan is expected to contribute to reducing pressure and improving the efficiency of road surface exploitation on this route.
According to the implemented plan, Cong Hoa street with 6 lanes will be divided into 3 distinct parts. A noteworthy point is that the two lanes in the middle of the route will be adjusted to flexible traffic directions depending on the traffic volume at each time of day.

In the morning - the time when the volume of vehicles from An Suong direction pouring into the city center increases - the two middle lanes will be prioritized for this traffic direction, raising the total number of lanes heading into the inner city to 4 lanes.
In the afternoon, when the flow of vehicles from the center moving backwards towards An Suong intersection increases sharply, the plan will reverse traffic to prioritize the direction out of the suburbs.
During off-peak hours, the two middle lanes will return to serve two-way traffic as usual to optimize the road surface space.

To prepare for the implementation of the new plan, from mid-April, functional units have dismantled the concrete median strip about 2-3 m wide along with the green tree system and traffic lights in the middle of the road to maximize the expansion of Cong Hoa street. Replacing the old median strip is a system of lane-separating steel fences to serve vehicle reversal.

Many people expressed their hope that the new plan will help traffic through the Cong Hoa - Truong Chinh area become more smooth after many years of frequent and prolonged congestion.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that from May 15, Cong Hoa street will be organized for traffic with a reverse lane model according to the time frame.
