On August 31, Ms. Vy Thi Quyen - Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Tip commune, Nghe An province said that the landslide point on provincial road 543D section passing through Xop Tip village has been handled, ensuring that people and vehicles can re-circulate.
According to Ms. Quyen, in recent days, there has been prolonged rain in Muong Tip commune. On the same morning, a landslide suddenly occurred in the Xop Tip village area, many large rocks rolled down from the mountain blocking provincial road 543D.

Some large rocks blocked the entire road surface, causing traffic through the area to be congested.
Immediately after the landslide occurred, local authorities coordinated with functional units to mobilize machinery to the scene to level soil and rocks, and urgently open roads.
After many hours of handling, by noon on August 31, the road was reopened, people and vehicles could pass through the area.
However, according to local authorities, the risk of landslides here still exists because there are still many rocks on the mountainside and the weather continues to rain.
This section often landslides every time it rains. The government has warned people when passing by to pay attention to ensure safety" - Ms. Vy Thi Quyen said.
Leaders of Muong Tip commune said that provincial road 543D is the only road from Muong Xen commune to Muong Tip, with many people and vehicles passing through every day.
The locality proposed that higher authorities soon have a long-term handling plan for areas that frequently experience landslides, limiting the risk of unsafety for people.
