On August 29, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee announced that it had just issued Decision No. 4331/QD-UBND on announcing emergency situations of natural disasters at landslide locations, not ensuring safety in the residential area of Dung K'No 5 village, Dam Rong 4 commune.
Accordingly, in the positive taluy area from position A1 to A20, there are 15 households with about 70 people living.
The landslide area is hills 30-50m high, sloping slopes about 45-60°, about 500m long, about 60m wide. The average landslide level is from 1-3.5m.
Notably, landslides at the foot of the positive taluy have approached the edge of people's houses and filled the drainage ditches behind households. This area is about 300m long and 30-50m wide.
Most locations have been landslides since 2025, while some points continue to arise in 2026.
Functional agencies assess the risk of continuous landslides at a high level, especially when heavy rain occurs.
At the negative taluy slope, positions from blocks B7-B8 and B15-B28 were also eroded and landslides, directly affecting auxiliary works behind the house such as concrete yards, warehouses, kitchens and toilets. The total length of the affected area is about 200m, 5-7m high.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assessed that the landslide diễn biến at the residential area of Dung K'No 5 village is at an alarming and extremely complicated level.
Although the area was reinforced and repaired in 2020 and 2022, the hillside and taluy slope are still not stable, especially in Zone A.
Faced with the above situation, the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to closely monitor weather developments, plant warning signs, stretch ropes, arrange guards and guide people to avoid dangerous areas.
Dam Rong 4 Commune People's Committee is assigned to review, mobilize and resolutely relocate households that do not ensure safety; in necessary cases, implement forced relocation according to regulations, and at the same time have a plan to support life and resettle.
The locality has established a Standing Emergency Response Team, mobilizing police, military and militia forces to be on duty 24/24 hours to monitor, warn and proactively relocate people when dangerous situations occur.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested specialized units to urgently inspect and complete the drainage system, determine the cause and study technical solutions to treat, reinforce, and stabilize the landslide area in the long term.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported: Dung K'No 5 resettlement area, Dam Rong 4 commune, Lam Dong province has an area of more than 15.4ha, including 113 land plots, with a total investment of nearly 59.7 billion VND.
From July 2025, the resettlement area will experience subsidence and landslides, affecting the housing and auxiliary works of some households.
At the negative and positive slopes in the area, many large cracks have appeared, posing a risk of continued landslides, threatening people's safety.
Faced with the above situation, the government of Dam Rong 4 commune proposed that the province allocate funds to handle landslide points, contributing to stabilizing people's lives.
