Immediately after the flood receded, the Tuy Phuoc commune government (Gia Lai) coordinated with Brigade 573 (Military Region 5) to deploy emergency forces to repair 2 sections of the dike broken in the recent flood, in order to protect residential areas and agricultural production areas.

From November 18 to 20, the fierce flood has torn about 100m of the dike in Van Hoi 1 village and 40m of the Luat Le dike, causing water to flood into residential areas, sweeping away many people's properties and causing widespread flooding.
Recorded on the afternoon of November 25, nearly 200 soldiers including on-site forces of Tuy Phuoc commune, officers and soldiers of Brigade 573 and specialized vehicles proceeded to repair the broken dike sections.

Commanding the recovery work, Lieutenant Colonel Duong Tien Doan - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 573 - said that this is the responsibility of the army in peacetime. The workload is still very large, officers and soldiers are determined to complete the repair of the two dykes as quickly as possible, and will withdraw when they are finished.
The leader of Tuy Phuoc Commune People's Committee said that he had reported to the Department of Agriculture and Environment to recommend that the Provincial People's Committee soon have a policy to upgrade and repair solidly to ensure the long-term function of the dike section, protecting the lives and property of people around the area.
