Simple but noble examples
On the evening of February 3, at the Ho Guom Theater (Hanoi), on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Central Organizing Committee presided over and coordinated with the Communist Review, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize a ceremony to commend 96 outstanding Party cell secretaries throughout the Party. These are outstanding and typical delegates, representing 250,000 Party cell secretaries nationwide.
As one of the 96 outstanding Party cell secretaries commended on this occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Hieu - Party cell secretary, Head of the Anti-Drug and Crime Team, Border Guard Flotilla 38 (Border Guard) - took on the task of Party cell secretary from August 2022. With a sense of responsibility, self-learning consciousness, constantly improving knowledge and Party work skills, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Hieu gradually met the requirements of tasks in specific and complex working conditions. From the practice of uncompromisingly fighting against all kinds of crimes at sea, that green-uniformed soldier is considered by his comrades as the "enemy" of crime in the high seas.
Not only resolute in the fight against crime, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Hieu also directly participates in search and rescue at sea, contributing to helping fishermen feel secure in going offshore, sticking to the sea, and attached to the homeland's sea and islands.
Or like Mr. Lam Van Bang - Secretary of the Party cell of the Museum of Revolutionary Soldiers who was captured and imprisoned by the enemy (Phu Xuyen, Hanoi) has held this position since 2013. Mr. Bang regularly directly leads delegations of students to visit, recount the years of imprisonment, and stories about fallen comrades. Through this, he hopes to foster in the young generation a understanding of history, aspiration to contribute and a sense of striving for the Party.
He always believes that revolutionary tradition education is a xuyên suốt task, contributing to fostering ideals, fostering belief and responsibility for the young generation in preserving and promoting the historical values of the nation. "As a Party member, in any position, you must uphold the spirit of pioneering, exemplary, saying and doing, putting the interests of the collective and the people first," Mr. Bang shared.
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Hieu and Mr. Lam Van Bang are 2 of the 96 typical representatives selected and introduced by Party committees at all levels; they are Party cell secretaries who have excellently completed their assigned tasks, have prestige, many achievements, good models, and new ways of working, bringing specific and practical results in Party building, socio-economic development, improving people's lives in the locality, and building the great national unity bloc.
That is the image of Party cell secretaries in residential areas, villages, hamlets, residential groups close to the people, close to the people, firmly grasping every alley, every house... That is also the image of Party cell secretaries in border areas, islands, mountainous areas, remote and isolated areas - at the forefront of the Fatherland, directly leading and directing to maintain political bravery, closely combining national defense and security tasks with consolidating the "people's heart formation"; ready to take on tasks, anywhere, at any time when the people need them.
The Party's special attention to Party building work at the grassroots level
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc - Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture - Society, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - said that this is an event of important political significance, not only an opportunity to commend and honor typical Party cell secretaries, but also to show the special concern of our Party for Party building work at the grassroots level - the place that directly organizes the implementation and brings the Party's guidelines and resolutions into life.
The commendation of Party cell secretaries at the grassroots level on the occasion of the anniversary of the Party's founding has profound socio-political significance. The honored Party cell secretaries are typical representatives of hundreds of thousands of officials who are day and night sticking to the people, close to the grassroots level, solving the most specific and essential issues of the people; from economic development, preserving cultural lifestyles to disaster prevention and control, epidemics, and ensuring social security," said Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quoc Ly - former Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once advised "To lead the revolution, the Party must be strong. The Party is strong because the Party cell is good, the Party cell is good because all party members are good". This shows the origin of strength, role, and close connection between party members and the Party cell. Uncle Ho also once said "The Party cell secretary must be a prestigious person, know how to unite party members, and be close to the masses". Therefore, commending outstanding Party cell secretaries on the occasion of the anniversary of the Party's founding is even more meaningful.
More importantly, this commendation activity sends a clear message that the strength and prestige of the Party are built from the grassroots level, from ordinary but dedicated people, who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility. In difficult areas, border areas, islands, remote and isolated areas, the image of the Party cell secretary further shows the close combination between political tasks and building a "people's heart formation".
