On September 24, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province deployed a plan to implement the Program for Prevention and Control of Children's Accidents and Injuries for the period 2025 - 2030.
According to the plan, the general goal is to control and minimize accidents and injuries of children in the whole province, especially drowning accidents and traffic accidents.
Khanh Hoa province will focus on places that often have accidents such as families, schools and public places, to ensure children's safety, family happiness and society.
Regarding specific goals, by 2030, Khanh Hoa strives to: Reduce the rate of children who have accidents and injuries to 450/100,000 children; reduce the number of drowning deaths by 15%.
Khanh Hoa province also aims to have 885 schools meeting the "Safe School" standard; at least 4 communes, wards, and special zones meeting the "Safe community for preventing and combating accidents and injuries in children".
95% of children, parents and caregivers are provided with knowledge and skills to prevent accidents.
95% of children aged 6 to under 16 know about regulations on road traffic safety.
70% of children in this age group know safety skills in water environments.
90% of cadres, child protection collaborators, civil servants, teachers, and staff of nursing facilities are trained in knowledge and skills to prevent and combat accidents and injuries.
100% of village health workers, residential groups, and school health workers know first aid techniques for children in accidents and injuries.
