Floods on Dinh Ninh Hoa River are at risk of surpassing the historical peak in 1986
According to the hydrometeorological agency, the water level on Dinh Ninh Hoa River, Cai Nha Trang River and Cai Phan Rang River has exceeded alert level 3. The risk of deep flooding, flash floods and landslides is warned in many areas.
In particular, floods on Dinh Ninh Hoa River continue to rise, at risk of surpassing the historical peak of 1986. Through monitoring in the past 12 hours, floods on Dinh Ninh Hoa River tend to have complicated developments. Upstream (Duc My station), the water level is decreasing. In the downstream (Ninh Hoa station), floods continue to rise.

At 8:00 p.m. on November 19, the water level recorded at Duc My Station was 18.07m, 0.57m above alert level 3; Ninh Hoa Station was 6.51m, 0.81m above alert level 3.
Currently, reservoirs in the basin are releasing floodwaters with large floodflow: Da Ban Lake is 172.60 m3/s, Suoi Trau Lake190.05 m3/s, EaKrongRou Lake is 100 m3/s.
If the lakes continue to release and the area records rainfall of 100200mm, some places over 250mm/24 hours, in the next 24 hours, the flood of Dinh Ninh Hoa River will continue to rise, the forecast peak is 0.8-1.1m higher than alert level 3.
In case of increased flood discharge, the water level at Ninh Hoa station may exceed the historical flood peak in 1986 (6.58m). The area is at risk of flooding 1.52.5m deep. Low-lying areas may be flooded over 3m deep.
Flooding may occur in wards and communes: Ninh Hoa, Nam Ninh Hoa, Bac Ninh Hoa, Dong Ninh Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Tri, Hoa Thang... with the possibility of spreading.
Emergency flood on Cai Nha Trang and Cai Phan Rang rivers
In the past 12 hours, floods on Cai Nha Trang and Cai Phan Rang rivers have peaked, then receded and receded. Currently, the water level is exceeding alert level 3 at many stations.
At 9:00 p.m. on November 19, the water level recorded at Dong Trang Station was 12.54 m, 1,54 m above alert level 3; Dien Phu Station (19:00) was 6.60 m, 1.10 m above alert level 3.
Cai Phan Rang River, Tan My Station is 39.29m, above alert level 3 by 1.79m; Phan Rang Station is 4.39m, below alert level 3 by 0.11m.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, floods on both rivers will continue to rise and fluctuate at high levels. At Dong Trang and Dien Phu stations, it is above alert level 3 from 1,22.2m; Tan My is above alert level 3 from 2.53.5m; Phan Rang is above alert level 3 from 0.41m.
The risk of flooding is 12.5m, low in some places is over 3m. Low-lying areas may be flooded over 3m deep. Warning of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and strong flooding in downstream rivers.
