Long Thanh airport is planned to reach level 4F according to the decentralization of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); is an important international airport of the country, aiming to become one of the air transit centers in the region, with a scale and capacity after completing all 3 phases of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.
In phase 1, the project is investing in the construction of 2 runways, 1 passenger terminal with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year, 1 cargo terminal with a capacity of 550,000 tons of cargo/year and synchronous auxiliary items. Currently, the project is in the final stage of construction to basically complete the infrastructure by the end of 2025. It is expected that on December 19, 2025, ACV will conduct a technical flight to be able to put Long Thanh airport into commercial operation in the first half of 2026 under the direction of the Prime Minister.
