Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism said that in the first 9 months of the year, the whole province welcomed about 9 million overnight visitors, an increase of 57.9% over the same period in 2023 (reaching 100% of the 2024 plan). Of which, there were 3.6 million international visitors, an increase of 147.9% over the same period (exceeding 20% of the 2024 plan); 5.4 million domestic visitors, an increase of 27.2% over the same period (reaching 90% of the 2024 plan). Total tourism revenue is estimated at more than 44,138 billion VND, an increase of 61.9% over the same period (exceeding 10% of the 2024 plan).
To achieve the above impressive figures, Khanh Hoa province's tourism industry has built many tourism promotion activities and successfully organized national and international events such as Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival, India - Khanh Hoa Tourism Promotion Conference, Kite Awards 2024, etc.
In addition, Khanh Hoa province has promoted connections and international market promotion. In addition to traditional tourist sources such as Korea, China, Thailand, Russia... Khanh Hoa has proactively sought tourist sources from new markets such as India and Taiwan (China).
Launch many stimulus programs
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Tourism - assessed that, in addition to traditional tourism activities, businesses have now begun to proactively exploit potentials to diversify products, focusing on developing green tourism programs.
In the future, the Department of Tourism of Khanh Hoa province has also advised the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to issue a plan "Developing green and sustainable tourism in Khanh Hoa province" on the basis of exploiting and using effectively and sustainably marine resources and economic advantages to make tourism a spearhead economic sector, capable of flexibly adapting to economic, social and environmental fluctuations" - Ms. Thanh said.
At the meeting in early September 2024, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism reported a draft plan to organize a series of activities to celebrate the milestone of 9 million tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in 2024. Accordingly, the ceremony to welcome the 9 millionth tourist will be held at Cam Ranh International Airport on October 1 and the locality will organize a program to announce Khanh Hoa tourism reaching 9 million visitors and launch a tourism stimulus program with the theme "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism, come to love" at April 2 Square, Nha Trang City.
Discussing this plan, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested the tourism industry to increase communication for the event, and at the same time, organize the ceremony to announce Khanh Hoa Tourism reaching 9 million visitors in the form of an open stage, creating a friendly atmosphere.
When organizing the program, the locality should honor and reward organizations and individuals who have made many contributions to the tourism industry. At the same time, the tourism industry launched a stimulus program with discounts and promotions at all accommodation and tourism service businesses in the last 3 months of the year.
