Khanh Hoa requests police and military to be on duty 24/24 to respond to low pressure

Khanh Hoa - The province requests localities and units to proactively respond to tropical depressions and floods, and not be subjective to complex weather developments.

On the afternoon of September 12, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense of Khanh Hoa province issued a document requesting departments, agencies, branches, and localities to proactively respond to the tropical depression (TD) in the East Sea and floods.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of September 12, the low pressure area in the sea area southwest of the Hoang Sa special zone strengthened into a tropical depression.

At 7:00 AM on the same day, the center of the TD was at about 15.3 degrees North latitude; 111.0 degrees East longitude, about 150km southwest of the Hoang Sa special zone.

The strongest wind near the center of the TD is strong at level 6, gusting at level 8. The TD is moving in the Northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h.

Forecast until 7:00 AM on September 13th, the center of the TD will be at about 16.6 degrees North latitude; 109.2 degrees East longitude, over the sea area of Hue City - Da Nang, about 110km east-northeast of Da Nang. Wind force level 6, gusts level 8; continuing to move in the Northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h.

Faced with this development, the Provincial Civil Defense Command requested localities and units to continue to strictly implement the tasks directed by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Civil Defense Command; absolutely not to be subjective, negligent, or lose vigilance in the face of the developments of rain and floods and tropical depressions.

People's Committees of coastal communes and wards, the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Agriculture and Environment regularly update weather forecasts and warnings, tropical depressions and strong winds at sea.

Promptly notify and guide captains, vehicle owners, and ships operating at sea to proactively prevent and ensure safety.

Units must strengthen the supervision of ships and boats, maintain communication to grasp the situation and promptly handle arising situations.

Departments, agencies, branches, agencies, units and People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are required to proactively review and update disaster prevention and control plans according to their functions, tasks and the "four on-the-spot" motto, in order to ensure the safety of people's lives and minimize damage to property and infrastructure.

The Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police are ready with vehicles, equipment, and forces on duty 24/24 hours, coordinating with localities to support rescue and relief and overcome the consequences of natural disasters when requested.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station continues to monitor the developments of the TD, heavy rain, and promptly provide forecast and warning information about the location, direction of movement, intensity and development of the TD to serve direction and response work.
