The Dam Project to create a landscape for the center of Ha Giang City (old) was implemented from 2022 to 2026. This is a group B project, a level II project in the field of agriculture and rural development with a total investment of 330 billion VND.
According to the design, the dam has a total length of 98.5 meters, including 3 dam compartments with regulating valve gates with a total clearance width of 75 meters and two free spillway sections at both dam shoulders.

Each compartment has a width of 25 meters, and the pile is 2.5 meters thick. The dam is built of reinforced concrete, with a peak elevation of 97.50 meters; the valve gate system is operated by hydraulic cylinders.
The bridge on the dam has a width of 18 meters, design load HL93, design speed of 50 km/h, total length of about 122.5 meters, including 5 reinforced concrete arch spans.
The bridge connects the transportation system on both banks of the river, including National Highway 2 and the southern ring road of the city.
Along with dams and bridges, the project also arranges a dyke system to protect both banks of the river within the project area, reinforcing the downstream channel.
When put into use, the dam will create a stable water surface space, contributing to the formation of urban landscape, regulating the climate, and improving the ecological environment.
At the same time, the uplift dam facilitates the exploitation of surface water sources for production and living, contributing to supplementing groundwater sources, creating conditions for the development of aquaculture models on the Lo River.
